5 Easy Kids Science Experiments

Here are 5 Super Easy Science Experiments for kids that you can do at home with ingredients you can easily find around the house. Our top 5 kids science experiments are: Experiment 1: Marbled milk You need milk, food colouring, dishwashing liquid and cotton buds. Proteins and fats are susceptible to changes. When the dish soap is added to the milk, those molecules run around and try to attach to the fat molecules in the milk. You wouldn't see this without the food coloring! The food colouring looks like fireworks because it's getting bumped around! Experiment 2: Bubbly Balloon Inflator You need vinegar, baking soda, plastic bottles and balloons. Use a funnel to add 1/3 cup baking soda to the inside of a balloon. Fill a plastic bottle with approximately 1 cup vinegar. Attach the balloon to the mouth of the plastic bottle, then lift the balloon upright so the baking soda falls and causes the reaction. Experiment 3: Coca Cola and Mentos You need Diet Coke or Coke Zero and Mentor. Put the Mentos into the Coke bottle and step away - you will love the reaction that happens. Experiment 4: M&Ms and Skittles Rainbow You need M&Ms or/and Skittles. The chocolate inside of M&M's are covered by a hard, crunchy shell that is made up of sugar and different colored dye. When the warm water mixes with the sugary shell, the sugar dissolves and the different coloured dye begins to run and blend. Experiment 5: Tornado in a bottle. You need 2 plastic bottles, food colouring, tape and scissors. The vortex in this experiment is created when gravity pulls a liquid through an opening to form a rotating tornado. Swirling the water in a bottle while pouring it out causes the formation of a vortex, making it easier for air to come into the bottle and allows the water to pour out faster.
