Here's how to talk to your child about it
You learned that our senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch) are connected to our brain. Our eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin send signals to the brain to tell us what we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch.

Some activities you can do with your child now
- Have a sensory exploration activity: Set up different stations with objects that stimulate each sense. For example, have a station with different textures to touch, a station with scented objects to smell, and a station with different fruits to taste. - Play a "Guess the Sense" game: Show your child different objects or play different sounds, and have them guess which sense is being used. For example, show them a picture of a rainbow and ask them which sense is used to see it. - Create a sensory collage: Use materials like feathers, cotton balls, and sandpaper to create a collage that stimulates different senses. Talk about how each material feels and looks. - Take a nature walk: Encourage your child to use their senses to explore the environment. Ask them to describe what they see, hear, smell, and touch during the walk.

Pretend play with your child
GAME NAME: Sensory Adventure INSTRUCTIONS: Take turns with your child exploring different senses. Blindfold your child and have them guess objects based on touch, smell, and taste. Then, switch roles and have your child blindfold you to guess objects based on touch and sound. Have fun discovering how our senses connect to the brain!
