4 activities you can do with your child now
- Encourage your child to take deep breaths and talk about how their respiratory system works. - Ask your child to point to their nose and mouth, and explain how air enters their body through these parts. - Play a game where you pretend to be the voice box, making different noises and sounds together. - Teach your child about the importance of lungs by discussing how they help bring oxygen into their body.

Pretend play with your child
GAME: "Respiratory Relay" Instructions: Take turns with your child pretending to be different parts of the respiratory system. Start by taking a deep breath together (inhale/exhale). Then, the child can be the nose/mouth, you can be the voice box, and together make different sounds. Next, switch roles and be the throat/windpipe/Airways, pretending to transport air. Finally, be the lungs, taking big breaths and blowing out slowly. Have fun exploring the respiratory system together! (Note: Use child's name instead of your child)
